HHSR wants to take this opportunity to say happy G day to a hip-hop original.
Ghostface Killah — also known as Tony Starks to many — is celebrating #43 today. Aside from the fact that he showed us some love when we recognized The Wu’s classic record, “I Can’t Go To Sleep“, Ghost’s eccentric outlook, flavor and rhyme scheme has entertained rap fans everywhere for over two decades. This November actually marks the 20-year anniversary of the supergroup’s debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
Unlike another infamous east coast group that appears to be done for good, the Staten Island emcee and his Killer Bee brethren are in grindmode, as they’re currently on tour and working on new album, which slated to drop this July.
Check out this classic video from P. Tone, featuring Raekwon— “Apollo Kids”, off of his 2000 album Supreme Clientele.
Shoutout to Ghost and the rest of the Wu. We’re looking forward to the y’all kickin more of that realness in the near future.
Word to Shaolin.
